I'm using WinMPG to convert from .avi to mpg. Most of the time i have no probs with the sound. I now have 2 new avi's recently d'loaded and both have no sound after converted. This is happening more and more often.
(The .avi's have sound before conversion)
Any help out there?

This is Caused from the audio in your AVI files being VBR MP3...This audio format is Not Properly Supported by Many Programs...

The way to Solve this Problem is to decompress the audio in your AVI files before you Convert them to DVD....

This Tool will decompress the audio in your AVI files so you don"t have Problerms like this in the Future...

Thanks for the info. I suspected it had something to do with decompression. Is this a free d'load? It says that d'loads are free but then it goes onto say something about premium membership etc....
I found a program called Goldwave and have decompressed the audio with that. Once decompressed it gives me the option to save the new file into mp3, .wav etc. I'm a bit confused after this step because now when i play the .avi file which is now 768Mb the non decompressed version is 698Mb, it plays only the audio. There is no picture to go with the audio. HELP!
P.S
Will the program you have suggested just decompress the audio and then just be saved as an .avi?
Cheers

hi mate, use VirtualDub.

its the easiest

basically you open the AVI file and sav the wav as it rips the wav from the AVI and when you convert use the AVI as video source and wav as audio and this should sort the problem.

Actually the Tool in the Link is the easiest to use and it is More relieble than V-Dub and it will Decompress the audio while keeping it in an AVI file....

You just go to the page of the Link and you will see a counter that is counting down from 45 seconds to 0 and when it gets to Zero you can download the File...If you can"t get it from there you can PM me with your e-0mail address and I will send it to you....

Cheers
