I don't quite understand PS2 backing up. Do you need any kind of mod to use back up games? Such as magic swap or Messiah chips? If not, could I get a basic cut down how to burn a PS2 backup. I have dvd decriptyer and Isobuster, Image Patcher, and some other programs.


Any help would very helpful.

You can buy a mod chip or swap magic disks, depending on how much you want to mess with your ps2. I went with swap magic and am very pleased with it. I bought mine here: http://www.customps2.com/site/pages/prods/ps2_slide.html

also, ideally, all you need is DVD Decrypter to read and write the game, but there are some games that need rebuilt, split, dummy bins, etc... how to burn these games can usually be found as well as the information i am telling you by searching afterdawn fourms. if you go with swap magic, some games have special settings needed, you can get the list here: www.swapmagicfix.com

Yes, to play backups on your PS2 you will either need:

A) A modchip or
B) A fliptop lid or a Slide card, along with Swap Magic!

I went with the slide card because i did not want to rip my sticker in the back thus voiding my warranty. But flip top is the way to go if you want super fast swaps.
