I have just bought a new silver slimline PS2 so I believe this is the version 12 PS2.

My question is, I do not wish to install a chip so I will be going down the swap disc route. Now with my playstion already being a flip top do I need to change the lid or get these tools people are talking about? I notice the PS" lid opens half way before you have to open it by hand this leaves enough room to swap a disc does anyone know if you can get away with this or does it definately need the flip lid from swap magic. Ive also been reading about taping down a switch but cannot get into http://www.ps2ownz.com/ something to do with it not accepting my email adress for some reason and it isnt a hotmail one either. I will be happy backing up the disks as I will be using alcohol 120 its just the question about the lid im confused with.

Thanks for any help

John

yes, you still need a new fliptop or a tool. The magic switch or ghost switches only cost a few dollars.
