I used to encode movies with Divx3 and Flaskmpeg. What I'd like to find is a software that works just like Flask but using Divx5.
I'd like to encode video and audio all at once from the VOB files, which was what I was doing with Flask. All the guides I've read indicate multiple steps of processing audio first to a huge wav file, then combinint that with the video file.
Is there an easy way to do all this? I'm willing to compromise quality for speediness.
You can use GKnot to convert to Divx5, it's not a "all in one go" program like Flask was. It will do the conversion in three steps (audio, first pass, second pass).. But it's all automatied, so you don't have to mess around with too much stuff..
I use the 1-pass quality option for Divx set at 5 or 6, MP3 for the audio, crop the black out, check the audio settings and Flaskit!
7 - 10 hours later its done!
Never done the 2-pass option. Is it worth the extra effort?
Is there a need to do the video and audio seperate?
I simply rip with Smartripper and encode in 1 pass with Flask. Budda bing budda bang, that's it. Quality is fantastic and AVIs are between 600 and 1200 MB depending on length of movie.
How do u get the correct bitrate for your divx movies when you use flask with divx 5? I used the Advanced Bitrate Calculator when i used Flask with Divx 3, but now when i use it for divx 5, i always get avi's that are bigger than what i wanted.
I have been trying FlaskMPEG with DivX 5, I can't get any audio codecs to show up during the setup process, so the audio is always out of sync with the movie. Plus, the video is choppy but I may need to try different settings. What audio codecs do I need to download and where do I put them once I get them?
