I can't get a DVD to open in one of my drives using Shrink. It will open in Decrypter but shrink isn't even showing the disc in the drive. Anyone know what's happening?

What kinda disc is it?? i.e original or backup...

Does the computer pick up the disc in general like when u open "MY COMPUTER" also if in general if it does just use DVD Decrypter to ripp the movie to your hard drive and then try to open up the movie from ur hard dive in DVD Shrink...

If it still doesnt work try reinstallin DVD Shrink...

@fishbulb:

When using DVD Decrypter, are you burning on to your HD?

If not, try it and then let DVD Shrink have a go.

Click on the link in my sig and follow the instructions for these two proggies.

Good Luck!

It's the original disc. Doesn't even show up in My Computer. Works fine in my other drive which is the one I usually rip DVDs with. Just happened to be using the different drive this time and Shrink wouldn't pick up the disc. I ended up doing what I usually do. Rip using DVD Decrypter in the drive normally used and burn w/ the other. But still don't know why shrink won't open it in that particular drive.

Burners don't make the best rippers. You end up with this kind of problem. You could always try removing and reinstalling the drive. You should get the "New hardware found" message. After that try removing and reinstalling Shrink again.
Does the drive recognize CDs or anything else? What's the make and model of the drive?

Seems to be working again. Don't know why it stopped working for a while. I'm just going to stick w/ using my ripping drive like I normally do and just use this one for burning. I'll only use it to rip if something happens to my ripper. That's why I was concerned about it not working. I'd hate to end up w/ 2 drives that suddenly stopped ripping.
