Hi.

I have the Xenium modchip, with Xenium OS v.2.0.1 installed and have the harddrive installed and (I think) working properly. However, I cannot get the thing to connect to my PC. I'm using ethernet cables through a hub. When I type \\xbox to find the network, it says that it can't find the network path. I try to ping to the xbox static IP, and I get request timed out and no connection indicated. Did I just get a dud xbox (purchased used from a game store), or is there something else I can do?

Are you connecting via a crossover cable or a network?

Actually, I now have a different problem. Some of the files for pcsxbox won't ftp over completely, and the .bin's for the games I have won't transfer either. It says "Transfer successful! Transfer failed." I'm using flashftp. Any thoughts?

The only time I had trouble transfering files was with music. IF the were dashes, quotes, etc...involved in the files name, it would transfer. Make sure the files you are transfering or that can't transferred have no breaks in the filename. For eample (mjackson:thriller) might not work but (mjacksonthriller) might. Just a thought.

Thanks for the reply.
Actually, the pcsxbox files I used to have on the C drive, then I transfered them over to the F drive, then I wanted to move them back but it wouldn't let me, so I wanted to delete them and retransfer them back to C, but it wouldn't let me delete them , so I'm now trying to retransfer the files to C. Oh and I can't delete the files from F using the PC because the text is all jumbles (i don't know if that's typical or not). THat's the lowdown with pcsxbox. The bins I extracted from my ps1 cds have never transferred. There's not dashes, commas, semicolon, etc in ay of the filenames. I'm almost tempted to just recover the wholesystem and start over, because it shouldn't be too hard to transfer over what I have on it currently. Oh, and I'm using a direct connection via crossover cable. Would FlashFXP work better than flashftp?

I can't say cause I only use FXP. Sorry. But I think an FTP Client is an FTP Client. I'd assume that proper settings are the only ting that intereferes with the quality of transfering. But, like I said, FXP is the only Client I use.

I have never had a problem deleting any files though with FXP. Try it. If you have all the files from PCSXBOX on your PC, on a disc...just try using FXP to delete the entire directory, restart and put them where you want them to go.

I tried fxp, and it won't even show me ANY of the files on the xbox. It only shows the drives, but no files or folders in them. Smart ftp can't see them either. Only flash ftp can see the files and folders on the drives. Maybe I do have a setting wrong or something. But I followed an online tutorial step-by-step to set it up. I really don't know anything about this stuff. This is my first time with networking of any sort.

I made an FTP tutorial. It's in my sig. Why don't you click on it and start your process over. POST here or in that thread if you have issues.

Hey, thanks. Now it works perfectly. I think prhaps the problem was that I was networking through the Xenium OS, as opposed to the Avalaunch dash.

One more question, if you don't mind. I'm using cdrwin to extract .bin and .cue files from my playstation cds, and then transfer them to the pcxcds folder, but it can't load them. Something about not being able to open the scph1001.bin. Is there something else I need to put in there?

scph1001.bin is needed to play the files I believe. Like the driver. There is another one as well but I believe it's one or the other. I headed t work but I'll try to research it when I get home. I've got the info somewhere.

In the meantime, just Google around the Web and look for that file. It's there, I've done it before.

Glad you gt your FTP working, I'll check on your status later.
