Hi Guys,
I was hoping this thread could give me (and others) advice on looking after a freshly modded PS2. I have (well getting it 2moro morning :-D ) a new slimline PS2 with Matrix infinity chip in it and I am slightly worried about issues with the laser and would like to do what I can to best prolong it's life.

So far I have heard that buying good media is an important factor

Burning games at slower speeds
Making another DVD/CD copy once your backup get scratches on them
Are there any other tips or tricks you would advise? I can't wait to play Winning Eleven 9 tomorrow but wanna make sure I haven't missed anything obvious :)

Bascially, try to use good media (Ritek, Verbatim, TDK etc.) and burn at a very slow speed. Thats basically it! There are exploits and hacks for the PS2, sega emulators etc. for the PS2, so check google,

For emulators for the PS2, look here - www.zophar.net/consoles/ps2.html

PM me for info if you wish.

Thanks for the input, so far my PS2 is running fine with a Matrix Infinity chip. Just played WE9 before work, it's pretty good but bloody hard.
I am using TDK media by the way burnt on the slowest setting by the way.
