i have just brought Maxwell DVD -R and the speed is 8x :( i wanted to get the maxwell DVD +R 4X but it's too late and has been posted :-/ so now i am going to be stuck with this media, i am going to be making backup copies of god of war and fahrenheit and probabaly burnout 4 too. has anyone got any tips on how i can burn these as i know god of war needs to be burnt at 1x and i cant with this media, would it be possible to burn this media at 1x without any errors in the game? or would i have to burn it at a horible speed of 8x :S

you can still burn it at 1x theres no reason why not ive even burn at 8x on 4x media and the game still worked perfectly. I doubt it has to be burnt at 1x it would probably still work at 8x but yes you can still burn it at speed 1x even if it says 8x because 1 comes before 8 =D

its quite weird but what works for someone else might not always work for you everyone kinda needs to find thier own preferance.

Basically ive got enough dvd-rs here to make a small house out of so i dont mind a bad burn once in a while. I always burn as fast as i can and chaging the speed has never solved any problems for me. The skipping and so on has always been fixed by rebuilding the iso then burning. Media though certainly makes a difference but i have never noticed any improvments with burning it as fast as i can.

But as i said you might be different im not sure just have to try and see basically, i mean where would we be if no one took risks eh?
