Hummm,
Think I can help out here.
The disk_id utility can be found at www.ps2nfo.com . Normally, for online games, the most common file types that are patched are files starting with IOP and DNAS. I have found that from every online games I've had to patch, the file was called DNAS300.img. It's usually found in the /modules folder of the game, and sometimes in the root folder (the main directory of the game).
To re-create your game correctly, you need...
1. Disk_ID (found in discidinsertor.zip)
2. DVD Decrypter
3. ISObuster
4. WinImage.
5. Disc Identifier "dvd_disc_ID_utility.zip"
NOTE: This file contains a rebuild.iso image. You need to go
ahead and burn this image to a blank DVD using DVD Decrypter.
This disc will always be needed when dealing with online game
duplications.
Now for the low-down.
1. Create image of game with DVD Decrypter.
2. Create a new folder called "files_to_patched" in the C drive
of your computer (for easier access).
3. Open disk_id.exe. Leave your game inserted in your PC as well.
5. With the disk_Id program running, click "open DNAS."
6. Browse to your DVD drive that has the game cd.
7. Look for IOP and DNAS files.
8. When you find on, double click it.
A. Click Scan.
- If it finds that no hidden code is in the file, it will
tell you, so move on to the next IOP or DNAS file.
B. When you spot one that says "routine found," write that file
name down. You normally only find one file that has a
disk checker code hidden in it.
9. Now that you've found the file, we need to extract it from the
image.
A. Open ISObuster.
B. Open the image of your game you created with DVD Decrypter.
C. Locate the file that has the hidden code.
D. Click on that file one time so that it is highlighted.
E. Right click that file, select "extract", and open the
"files_to_patch" folder, and extract it there.
Okay, we've actually just made a copy of the file that needs patching. Now, we need to patch it. If you don't have this zip file, you need to head to www.ps2nfo.com and find it. The name of the file is "dvd_disc_ID_Utility.zip" This zip file has an image file called "rebuild.iso." You need to burn that image to a blank DVD. This program discovers the hidden disk ID number found on the original game. Below are the continuing steps to solve this puzzle. Note, I boot burned media on my PS2 with Swap Magic 3.6. So, if you don't, just adjust my steps with the way you load burned media.
10. Remove game from PC.
11. Head over to your PS2 with it, as well as, your Swap Magic DVD
boot disk, and the dvd_disc_id DVD you burned.
12. With your PS2 off, insert the Swap Magic DVD boot disc.
13. At the "load program" menu, remove the Swap Magic disc.
14. Insert the dvd disc ID disc you made by having burned the
rebuild.iso to a blank dvd.
15. Press the X.
16. You now see a series of numbers under 3 categories. They are
all zeros.
17. If you are using Swap Magic, the disc is still spinning, so...
A. With one hand, put on finger on the new lid frame just above
the eject button to hold it in place. Now, press and HOLD
the eject button. The disc stops spinning.
B. Remove the dvd disk ID finder DVD you created, and insert
the original game.
C. Let go of the eject button, and remove your hand from the
PS2.
18. Press X.
19. You now see new numbers. Write down the 5-paired numbers under
the Disc ID category (the first series of number shown at the
top of your tv.)
20. Return to your computer.
21. Bring up the disc_ID.exe file program. Should still be running
if you haven't closed it.
22. Click "open DNAS", and browse to your "files_to_be_patched"
folder. Double click on the file you put there earlier.
23. Click scan again so the the patch button comes to life.
24. Type in the 5-paired numbers, one pair at a time in each of the
5 boxes.
NOTE: Any time you see a "0", is the number zero.
25. Click Patch. You see "file successfully patched. Close the
disc_id.exe program.
26. Close ISObuster if you still have it opened.
27. Open Winimage, and have it open up your game image you created
with DVD Decrypter (the same one you loaded into ISObuster).
28. Locate the file name you had to patch. If it's in a folder,
open that folder through the interface of Winimage.
29. You now see the file.
A. Click File/Inject.
B. Browse to your "files_to_be_patched" folder, and double
click the file you see. It's the same one you patched.
30. Message pops up "overwrite...". Just click Yes.
31. Close Winimage. You are done. Just burn the game's image back
to a DVD with DVD Decrypter. Load your burned game, and head
to the Multiplayer option for online gaming. When it comes to
the DNAS checker, you will pass with flying colors.
Here are a few tips of mine.
1. If you have to rebuild the image down the road for a game, using
CD/DVD Gen and IML2ISO, inject your patched file after IML2ISO
has done it's job. Be sure to first extract the file that
contains the disc id checker code prior to using CD/DVD gen. In
other words, before extracting all files with ISObuster, extract
your coded file to the "files_to_patch" folder first. Also,
when using ISObuster and extracting all game files when rebuilding
an image, dump the files in a folder named "iso_extracted_files."
2. Keeping folders named what you are actually doing makes this
process a great deal easier.
3. Once you have created a successful archive of your game, make
sure to delete the patched file from your drive, and, if you had
to rebuild the game...
** Test the game to see that it works ** Then...
A. Dump the folder that all the files where extracted to with
ISObuster.
B. Delete all of the .iml files that were created.
C. Delete the initial and final game image.
4. When patching your game, and say you want to make an "archive" for
a friend, keep the first paired numbers intact, and make up any
paired numbers for the last three boxes using hexadecimal
numbering. To make it easy, you can always use "1's" for the
last paired numbers.
5. If you find that your game stutters or skips, make sure you are
burning it at 4X, and on -R DVDs. From my experience, I find that
any -R blank DVD does the trick, regardless of name-brand.
** If you have any problems locating the programs needed, read my signature info, and use it. **
