How to turn off DMS4 ezi pro so I can play online???

Hello I just got my online hookup to my ps2 and I did all of those settings that I need to but when I try to play something I get a DNS code error 402 when I looked it up it said its because it's a modded ps2 I thought I read something about holding square to turn off the modchip but i've never gotten that to work yet...so what should I do?
