Hey everyone. As you can see I'm new to the site, and I need major guidance. I want to start backing up my PS2 games just in case my originals get damaged. I'm not sure I f I have everything correct. If my Madden NFL 06 disc was to get warped, would my backup disck work as well? PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION BEFORE CONTINUING THIS PASSAGE[bold/]Your cooperation is appreciated If this is true, I need the most IN-DEPTH STEP BY STEP[bold/] guide to backing up my PS2 games WITHOUT MODCHIPS OR ANY OTHER HARDWARE[bold/]only downloadable software[i/] I need to know which programs are the best to use in this situation. Can I use CD-R and DVD-R,if so which is the best manufacturer. Please reply ASAP. Also, try to keep in mind that I have never backed up my games before so I need serious help. Thank you for your time.

ok, you want to backup madden nfl 06 and your question is:

Do you mean:
A: if you tried to back it up with the original disc was warped
OR
B: if you backed it up, then the original disc warped?

B corresponds to my question. If I backed up my disc and it got warped somewhere down the road. Also, is there and special serial codes or extra stuff needed to back up my games? I'm a PS2 user.

you do not need the original to play the backups, you just need it to burn the backup. As for special serial codes, you are going to need to know your ps2 version. which you can find out here: http://www.customps2.com/site/pages/version.html
you have 2 options for your ps2, modchip or swapmagic. I went with swap magic because it requires no soldering to the motherboard.

Oh yeah, and about the posting a thread twice thing, that ws a total accident. Right now, I am on a laptop and the built mouse is weird. If you keep your hand on the actual mousepad to long it will automatically select stuff.

That site says that the highlighted one are compatible, are the highlghted ones blue, or should they be a different color. Also,is there anything else I can use instead of the slide card stuff, can I just buy a few software discs only?

No, because when you eject the Swap Magic disks out, the PS2 is no longer tricked!!

I need to remove the front cover of my PS2, I'm reading instructions but I am unfamiliar with some of the terms like clipped.

you either have to use the slide card or a fliptop. with the clipped thing, i had problems with that too, ended up breaking one off, but no big deal it is not needed. if your worried about breaking one of them just look really closely while pulling it of, it takes a little bit of force to get off.

the fliptops are used WITH the swap magic. it removes the need to use the slide card since the ps2 doesnt regogize you opened the cd tray

pretty sure you can get a fliptop on the website i posted. in order to use a fliptop you have to change your case which rips your sticker in the back, voiding your warranty.
