This is probably an easy one for you vets...I have a movie stripped down to video_ts and .ifo files, and I need to convert them to an .iso for watching off my hard drive (I don't have a dvd player.) I have DVD Shrink , Nero, and WinISO installed, but WinISO Gets an error message 90% of the way through, DVD Shrink give me a "error in video_ts file" message, and Nero want me to burn it onto a dvd (which I don't have). Can antbody out there help me. Iusually fiddle around until I get it, but this one has taken me all night! Thanks.

You are apparently missing the .VOB files. These are the actual content of the movie. Without .vobs you do not have a movie. Open your VIDEO_TS folder and list all the files present. Got .vobs?

If Shrink will not accept them then you may have corrupted them somehow.
What did you use to take them off the original disc and put them on your hard drive?
If Nero wants to burn to a DVD and is not giving you any errors then you may be able to "correct" any problems.
I need to know what Nero program you were trying to use...
What you would need to do is go ahead and set the burn up, setting the target as a hard disc folder. Once that was done, you could use Shrink to convert to an .iso, not that you really need it.
I don't know about the Interactual player but all the media players I've tried open DVD files just fine. You have Nero, do you have Nero Showtime? That plays files.

The movie was a download, so I didn't rip it myself. The Nero Program I have is Nero 6 Ultra Edition. I haven't used Nero, so maybe I'm doing something wrong. DVD Shrink tells me that there's an error in the .vob_1_01 file.

WinDVD dosn't play audio on .isos, .imgs, but the interactual player usually works fine. I think the player hijacked WinDVD's audio drivers.

The error message is: "Invalid datain file "Casshern/video_ts/vts_01_1.vob". The individual files will play in windows media, so I don't think there is bad data.
