This question may seem silly, but I got these Taiyo Yuden DVD+Rs from Rima.com
http://www.rima.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=...
ID: YUDEN000-T02-000
These are blank on top. Can I write on them with a Sharpie permanent marker safely? I've always written names on other DVD and CDRs, but all of them had lines for labels. It's probably okay, I just want to make sure.

I got those same discs from Supermediastore.com only they're DVD-R, not DVD+R. They have a shiny silver surface. I used some Legacy discs that had a shiny silver surface on them as well and never had a problem writing on them with a Sharpie. You should be OK writing on them.

@Footie979 hi :)
yes you can write on any disc . plain ..coloured... or shiny with a sharpie
the lines on a shiny aren't there to line up labels they are there so you can write in a straight line the same as on lined paper.
it.s not wise to stick labels on a disc it can cause an unbalance which can cause playback problems.
and in the extreme can come unstuck when they get warm and fly about in your player/ drive

i write on ALL my Taiyo Yuden media w/ a Sharpie ALL THE TIME~ :)
it is COMPLETELY SAFE~ silver shiny, matte finish, with lines or no lines, branded as Fuji/Sony (8x DVD+R MADE IN JAPAN), etc. etc.
Sharpies love Taiyo Yuden media ALMOST as much as I do~ :)
