ok so i have this game devil may cry 3 and my actuall dvd of it is messed so i downloaded a copy and the only one of it i can find is a PAL version, i have a north american ps2 and well live in canada, when i burn this game i can see something just barly on the screen , but it is scrolling up and down and balck and white i use swap magic 3.6 with a flip top n e ideas what may be causeing this problem, is it my tv?

PAL runs at 50 Hz and NTSC runs at 60 Hz. This is what's causing the weird scrolling and black-and-white; the signal from the game is a different frequency from what your TV is supposed to receive and run.

It's possible to convert the PAL signal to NTSC using your Swap Magic disc; just change the Video Mode from Normal to NTSC at the boot screen. But even then, your screen image will be vertically misaligned, and you'll be missing part of the image (though most of it will be visible). You can also download and use PAL to NTSC conversion programs to patch and reburn the game with Y-fix to realign the picture. But personally, I think it's more hassle than it's worth to do this. Just get a NTSC backup of the game. Better yet, if your actual copy is simply messed up, contact the publisher (Konami, in this case) and return the disc, they'll usually send you a replacement.
