I am installing a Matrix Infinity chip into my daughters PS2 V12 (PAL).
The only wire I have left to solder is the +3.3V wire, the problem is that the component on the wiring diagram is different than the one on my PS2 motherboard ???

The component should be pretty big with [50] written on it, but the component in it's place on my motherboard is tiny with [202] written on it ????

Do I solder to this ???
Do I have to use the thicker wire for this, as the component IS tiny ??
Is there anywhere else I can solder the +3.3V wire to ??

ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED!!!!!!

is this the diagram that you used?

http://www.infinitymod.com/matrix/files/chips/Matrix%20Infinity/V...

from looking at my ps2 (US) the thick wire goes from the chip to in that diagram #4. hope it works for you.

is yours v12 slimline? because there should be a 50 if its a slimline v12. unless theyve updated it...

Thanks for the reply!!

Yes I used the diagram you posted. As you see, in #4 the +3.3V wire goes to [50].

On my V12 Slimline there is no [50] ??? Instead there is a tiny [202].

I have modded a slimline before, which had the [50] component, so they must have updated it.

I just need to know if I can solder to it using the thinner wire.

yes you can solder to it with thin wire, try not to apply to much heat because they will blow alot easier than the 50 fuse

Mine dosn't read discs.........just goes straight to browser menu & I get no continuity if this is a fuse.
