Hey guys can anybody tell me if it is possible to boot a psx backup with swap magic 3.3 on a ps2?

No, the swapmagic discs are just for PS2 games.

To boot PSX backups or imports you need a product called Breaker Pro. Read my FAQ about how to use it and decide if it's for you: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/230987 It works great, the only game I haven't been able to boot is a back up copy of Legend of Mana. I reccomend getting the flip top lid if you decide to purchase Breaker Pro.
