From what I've been reading it's not possible, the only thing you can really do with it is install exploit, talking about exploits there's meant to be away of getting swap magic onto your Ps2 memory card so you can boot backups that way but so far i have not been able to get the exploit made due to a dodgy guide with it that was not help :( Unless you have a spare hdd you will need to get swap magic.
