Alternative title: "Tales of ordinary madness"
I decided to install as alternative platform one of the varius distributions of Linux.
My configuration is P4/2.0GHz, 1X512 MBRAM DDR 233MHz, NVidia GeForce4 440 MMX 64MB RAM, LG Flatron1915S. Additional I own a LG1715S and an EISO L355 monitor.
When I tried to evaluate Mandrake evaluation-live cd I expirienced the following:
When installation is ready to enter X-windows in my LG 1915S VDU I receive the message "Out Of Range 81.3KHz/65HZ". When I tried the LG 1715S or the EIZO L355 screens everything was OK. When I boot with one of the secondary Video Display Units and switch on the fly to the primary everything was OK!?!?!?.
Further none of the rest distributions seems to have any kind of problem with the above mentioned configuration and Windows XP and Windows 2003.
Can anybody explain this phenomenon, since in my area it was not reported any activity of aliens the last 160 years?
