I have never got the Cogswap Loader to boot a PS1 game , even though it looks like it will.... However here are 3 ways that I know work..

1 Get Breaker Pro

2 use a PS1 GameShark Version 4 or below, and when the screen prompts you to switch discs, use the slide tool, then start game without codes. ( I personally use GameShark Lite)

3. (this is my favorite method) If you have a version 9 PS2
(SPCH-70001) there is an exploit file called Launch.elf... and it has an option of misc. once here you can go to the PS2 browser, and it will show the black PS1 disc icon , but the disc inside won't be spinning ,at this point you would swap for the PS1 backup, then highlight the disc icon and push X...game boots.... but as I mentioned above this will work ONLY on the Version 9 PS2s.....I hope I've helped..any other questions....just post....best regards

Breaker Pro works great check out my FAQ:http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/230987 Dunno about exploits, but the disk is $20 and alleviates the need for a modchip. I successfully booted 42/43 backups with it (Legend of Mana being the exception). Check out general info about Breaker Pro here:http://breakerpro.com/ Check it out!

I agree... Breaker Pro does work great... as for a Breaker Pro exploit...well, there's not really a Breaker Pro exploit, but since it is a PS1 disc you can use its title .db to trigger the exploit...I've did this just to see if it would work...

I didn't know that Legend of Mana was incompatible with BP... I almost backed up my original of it..good info.

everything else has played successfully though...
the only prob I've ever had with BP is it would only boot like 1 out of 25 times on my old V 7 PS2. It would usually just make a bunch of clicking and ticing noises so I got a V9....now it's perfect

I GOT IT TO WORK :D i used AR2V2 bonus disk with PS1 codes n i got all of em to boot :) , i just swap the disc using slide tool on the with or without codes promt and selected without (works with codes as well) and then pressed X , game booted :) .. but now i see the horrors of PS1 graphics O_O , btw trying this with AR2V2 PS2 will not work , it will just go back to the browser then goto that screen saying "plz insert a valid PS1 or PS2 disc"

I dunno luck ghost if you'll have any issue's. I didn't give up on LOM without a fight. I downloaded (I loaned the original to a friend... and it came back after apparently being used as a projectile in a war somewhere) it over bt. I downloaded 2 different image files and they ended up being the same cue-sheets rip, I burned it with Nero, CDRWIN, and Alcohol, with no luck. This particular image file wasn't ripped correctly or s/t and is useless with Breaker Pro. If your original is still in decent shape then I doubt you'll have any issues. I used the same sites bt tracker and have had several problems with their back ups, so likely that cue-sheets image is the most readily available over the net. I have put it on hiatus after wasting 10 (and a lot of time and cursing) CDR's or so. If you do back it up, post and lemme know how it goes.
