I just last week bought a used computer. The operating system is Windows xp and the processor is a Nvidia Geforce 6600gt and my mother board is a DFI LAN PARTY NF3 250GB. Now the computer runs video games great in fact bettter than great. But when it comes to either playing a movie on Windows media player or trying to open dvd shrink everything slows down and nothing happens, I get no warning or error messages. When I press CTRL ALT DELETE I notice that dvd shrink is running at 99%, I can end the task and everything gos back to normal again with no error mesages. I'm only partialy computer knowlagable and need help, if anyone out there knows how to fix my problem please let me know. Thank you.
Same thing was occurring to me, posted about it elsewhere - DVD Shrink used to work for me, and suddenly stopped. Wasn't long after updating a Nvidia video driver, I'm thinkin it was related somehow...
Only cure for me was reformat the hard drive, reinstall windows, and reinstall all apps. Works fine now.
thanks Ray but id rather not fornmat the drive. If any one else has a solution or can tell me more about reintalling older Nvidia drivers, and if that is even a good idea. I can't live without DVD Shrink and Windows media player.
I just bought a new video card NX6600GT and now DVDshrink won't work. When I run it my computer slows down, and when i look at the resources it shows dvdshrink using 99% of CPU processing. Any ideas how to fix it short of reinstalling who OS.
