Hey... While trying to convert XviD AVI to DVD, I get into trouble. When I use NeroVision, DivxToDVD and others, it makes some kind of "lags" that happens like this: 2 sec smooth - 0.XX sec lag - smooth - ...
Anyone who knows how to solve this since I'm getting pretty annoyed now.

Note: When I'm only converting 1 XviD AVI, I use TMPGEnc 2.5 which is working fine or at least it did (I haven't tried for a while).

I can see that TMPGEnc 2.5 is having the same problem now...

If it's needed, here's some of my hardware info:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Winchester
2 x Kingston HyperX 512 MB PC-3500 (Dual setup)
2 x Maxtor DM10 200 GB SATA-150 (RAID 0 - Dangerous I know)

Are you Noticeing this Lag when you are Watching it on your TV set or before you Burn the DVD??

If you don"t know if the Video is like this Before you Burn the DVD then you should check because what you are experienceing sounds a Lot like Burn errors from Bad Media or Burning at Too High of a speed...

What Happens when this is the Problem is the Video will Freeze for a few seconds and then seem to Jump Foreward and it will Play for a few more seconds and then Freeze and then Jump Foreward and Play For a few seconds and then freeze again and so on and So on till I get Pissed off and Turn the Thing off.....

If this sounds Like the Problem you are haveing then i suggest that you try Burning your DVD"s at 2x speed and see if that helps because it works for me when I have this problem.....

If you get this problem when watching the DVD on your PC then what the problem Could be is maybe your Source AVI file was a PAL File and you encoded it to NTSC or the other way arround ...Most encoders suck at Converting Frame rates Like when going from PAL to NTSC or from NTSC to PAL and will cause Jumpy Playback ,If this is the Problem then the Way to Fix it is to Convert your AVI files to DVD useing a Encoder that Can do Good Pal/NTSC Conversions Like "Canopus Procoder" which is Probasbly the best for doing Pal/NTSC Conversions and it is also one of the Best quality encoders there is But it is Fairly Slow and very Expensive at about $500 .....

Good Luck

When I play it in like VLC og MPC, no lags occures but when I set NeroVision to do the job, the lags occures (also while doing a preview before burning). The same happens with TMPGEnc 2.5 now... When I were using Windows XP x64, I didn't have those errors but now it seems like it's a configuration mistake or something... This may sound weird, I agree, but something has to be wrong :/

I have the exact same problem. Its nothing to do with the burning speeds or anything like that, its not even anything to do with the encding process. When you put all the files in and make your menus etc, you get to a screen enabling you to watch the dvd movie and preview it etc ( the screen with the funny remote and the TV). This actually shows the lags happening also. I think its because the file gets encoded by Nero from AVI, so if you use a MPEG file it doesnt jump. My ownly problem is finding a program that does conversion from AVI to MPEG that I can create movies for in NeroVision.

Anyone any ideas??
