if you did a search around the forums, using the search feature
you would have found that this game needs rebuilding, and there was no need to start a new thread :)

good luck

ok i followed the advice or Mike237 he said once u load up swap magic, open the tray and put in a real game in his case fifa 05 when is says insert own program disc then put fifa06 in, i tried this method and guess what it works!!!! my only complaint is i had to try a few games before it would work, i tried gran turismo 4, San Andreas, fifa 04 and it finally worked with sonic mega collection
so there u go.
i must ask tho does anyone know why this has to be done?

its called a TOC refresh

swapmagic disk's can only boot games that fall below he limit of the swapmagic disk's,the size of the swapmagic image

you may be getting confused by now,so...

the size of the swapmagic disk is about 4.37 GB say, lets not be scientific...

now,if a game is of similar size or over this limit, then the ps2 has problems booting it,this is why you can do a TOC refresh,(use a game of higher SIZE to boost the toc,so to speak

but this involves double swapping,so....

we can rebuild some games, and remove hidden/dummy/garbage files which are not needed inside the image, they are there just to beef up the image, and fill the disk up,thus improving load times remember, the game makers do this for people who actually buy the games, not to annoy people who use swapmagic

fifa 2006 is one of those games

ahh, i understand now, lol that comment made me smile of the manufacturers making it for the people who buy the games, as if they would stand and decide on how best to suit the pirateer!!
lol

Thanks mate

also would this double swap method work with all games that would otherwise need rebuilt? or is it sometimes impossible to avoid?

not 100% sure whether it would work on most games that require a rebuild,as most people do just that.....rebuild them...its quite easy, once you get the hang of it

check the "user submitted guides" section,i havent written a step by step guide on how to do it

My Way Of Getting Fifa 2006 to work 110% PERFECT:

If downloaded, size of .iso should be more then 4.4GB.. i think, deleted the files now so cant be sure but yea.. its big, anyways... all you really need to do is rebulid it.

open iso with ISObuster, extract to "Fifa 2006" folder on desktop.

leave ISObuster open, open CD/DVD-ROM Generator 1.20

drag the files from the folder in the order they are in ISObuster

enter the volume Details
[SLES code, Producer name "PLAYSTATION" & License Area: PAL = Europe, NTSC = Japan and America]

Click Rec... (promot to save, call it fifa2006 and save it on your desktop)

2 errors should come up, go through them, then a new box pops up, go to file, export image, save on your desktop

wait for that to be done, open gdvd4-IML2ISO

click on the ... and then find the fifa2006.iml file on your desktop, open it and click start. (that shout creat an .iso and a .txt file)

after thats done, open DVD Decrypter, find the image, put at x2 speed, (i use TDK unbranded x2 compaitible DVD-R)

and burn it... (the final image done by the iml2iso program was around 2.somthing GBs... but once opened in DVD Decrypter it shows as 3.somthing GBs)

Im playing this game as im typing this! no glitches, no errors, no slow downs! everything is jiggy! ;) fuck the TOC size refreshing bullshit and all that "this n that" im to lazy for it!

F.T who i be...
