Hi, I've tried many different ways to make a backup on dvd, (methods I'm told on forum are surefire, rebuild iso)and none seem to load with the swap magic 3.6 I'm using. The disc simply starts spinning and stops, load screen never moves and non ps2 compatible stays at bottom. I'm wondering if perhaps it's the maxell dvd-r disc I'm using or anything else, please help I've been searching for the last week and have made too many coasters already.

for one what games are you useing. for 2 what method are you using, you say surefire, but doesnt tell how your doin it. or are you not doin swap method correctly. you could be using games that need patched, are you doin flip top or slide car. laser might need to be adjusted, you might not be locking the laser back into the up position. no offense but what you trying to accomplish is way too easy to be haveing so many problems. DVD Decrypter iso read, then when doen, iso write, that is if its one that doesnt need patched and its a DVD5. write on a low speed, and use good media. also what version of ps2 do you have, make sure smd is compatible with it.

Make sure your putting the DVD swap magic disc in to play DVD+/-r copies. And the Compact disc swap for cd-r.

Make sure your burning your discs at the speed the disc is rated at.
-I have a 16x burn and bought "up to 16x" disc's. I kept getting coasters when I burned at 1x or 2x (as recommended).. Finally I just tried burning at the discs rating of 16x and the disc loads everytime.

You didn't mention how your swapping discs. Slide card? solderless chip?
-If the solderless ship (v4-v7?) then make sure after booting the SD 3.6 you hold the eject button down till the tray pops out (at high speed I might add). Then quickly swap discs. Wait for tray to return on own then hit "X"
-If your using the slide I have to agree with above and make sure your using the slide card right. Try using it with the PS2 powered off (practice).

Sounds like your using the eject button when you shouldn't be. You do need more then just the discs. You need a swap method
