Ok here is the problem.
I am trying to play dvd's on my pc.
2.4Ghz Pentium 4
Adapter Type Vanta/Vanta LT, NVIDIA compatible
Adapter RAM 16.00 MB (16,777,216 bytes)
396mb ram
dvd rom
VideoLan software player.

These are regural DVD's not copies.
If I play the dvd with out subtitles the dvd plays ok. There is no choppyness or jurk movments.
However if I select to have subtitles, then the video starts to get choppy and jurky.

I have tried a few differnt dvd's and they all do the same thing with subtitles in place.

I have Cool Bean CPU monitoring in place and it reports that sometimes it goes up to 95% cpu usage but most of time it is in the 50-70% range. My ram usage stays at about 65%.

Any idea as to what else I should check?

SeeYa
