I have an episodic dvd with 6 episodes on it. When i open the folder and view the vob files there are 3 0.99gb and 1 256mb vob files. The episodes are cmobined inro the serval vob files. I want to extract each episode from the vob files into a single avi/divx file.

I have tried to use divx convertor and winavi but i can only manage to convert 1 vob file (contaniing more than one episode) into one avi file.

Can anybody tell me how make each episode into an avi file rather than a whole vob file please....If that makes sense

Thanks in advance

If you have 6 episodes, they are most likely separated by chapters. You may try e.g. ImToo DVD Ripper for ripping the chapters into AVI.

Not separated by chapters (good guess though :^)
They will each be a program chain. DVDDecrypter will find the 'likely' one but in your case there should be 5 others.
Remember, Decrypter thinks it is finding a single movie hidden by a buncha extras, so in your case you must run DVDDecrypter through 6 rips, in IFO mode. Create a new folder for each episode.
I would demux the audio (probably AC3 2.0) into a separate file each time, too.
You can then run your MPEG4 converter on each episode - I use GordianKnot with Koepi's XviD codec.
I did Trailer Park Boys with 3 episodes per CD (700MB/3 = ~230MB per episode). They are only 30minutes/ep.
But for 640x480 NTSC you really need more! It is 30fps (movies are only 24fps) and 640x480 is more pixels than a 2.35:1 widescreen movie.
So I did Sex In The City with ~345MB/episode - much better, especially if using the AC3 audio. You will actually have lots of bits for the AVI :^)
I now have enormous empty SATA drives, and must re-rip my TPBoys collection with a more generous bitrate.
But it's amazing how good they look, 3 eps/CD - I can fit 18 episodes on 1 DVD, LoL :^) But I did them at 512x384.
Gonna re-do 'em all, 640x480.
Anybody wants Trailer Park Boys, a fine Canadian product, let me know - I can send you the DVDs, not yet available outside Canada.
But you've been warned.
