OK, When I start the ps2 up it does this

The main screen has all the little dots in a big ball,
the cd spins for about 15 sec. than stops
the laser does not track, but the laser works it turns on,
and im getting disc read errors.

oh the browser and all the other stuff on the main screen works.

Ive spent one day and night trying to figure it out and nothing works.

Plz help...

sounds like ur having a problem with ur Drive reading the disc...maybe dust or smtin else is blocking the laser from reading the disc....most likley dust . try and get one of those laser cleaning discs..

how can i do that when my ps2 cant read anything??? the laser does not track.

im wondering if one of the chips on the motherboard inst shot.

would that do it?

ive been doing that and still does the same thing, well I wont even be able to do it again one of the ribbon cables came loose and i drilled a hole through it (reset/eject) have to buy a new one.

only 5.00


that still isnt going to fix it. why as ive said in previous statements the laser does not track period it moves alittle then shuts off. and ive tried putting the same type of laser in it and that laser does the same thing.

I might need a new motherboard but i dont know that, thats why im asking for help.
