I do not have a data cable for this phone. Does anyone know if there is an unlocking code available without going to my service provider.

Hello,

You cannot unlock this phone by codes. You can only do it by cable.

This is how you unlock it:

1) Download Motorola Unlocker from http://motoaide.com:8081/motorola/program%20software/motorola_unl...

2) Download PST ( Dont know where you will find it. Use P2p Like Emule).

3) Open Multiflashflex from PST Folder. Select Flash when it asks for Flash or Flex. Download R364 FLash from http://motoaide.com:8081/motorola/flash_flex/V180/. Extract the contents. WHen PST asks for the file. Locate the extracted file from PST and select it.

4) After that when you see the next screen select Override Existing Phone software.

5) Check whether the flash works. Then switch of your phone. Then press * and # and power together quickly and you should see a black screen with s/w version etc. Open Motorola Unlocker and click on the button down (COnnect Phone in Flash mode or something). Wait until you see the message Done.

Your Phone is Unlocked.

Hi Troman12,

Just found this forum. I am from UK. I have just bought a V220 PayAsYouGo phone from Virgin Mobiles. It is R365_G_0B.D2.23R. I can only use Virgin simcard on this mobile.

I want to unlock my phone so that I can use any simcard on it.

I went through couple of threads but I did not succeed. I want to know how can I make my phone better. Someone talked about quad band, someone about flashing lights, etc.

I don't know what is flash or flex but I want to learn about them and use them on my phone.

If you don't mind can you please tell me the steps from start to finish of this exercise, that is:
1. What are all the softwares that I need for this exercise.
2. Do I really have to downgrade from R365 to R364 to unlock.
3. I tried downloading Motorola unlocker from http://motoaide.com:8081/motorola/program%20software/motorola_unl... you mentioned above but I am getting a message that the driver folder is password protected and is asking for a password.
4. Also can you tell me which flash should I select from http://motoaide.com:8081/motorola/flash_flex/V180/ that you mentioned above.

First I want to unlock my phone and then enable/disable any features on my phone.

Please help me.

Hello if you don't have "THE" Motorola USB cable you can use a standard USB-A to USB-B cable or any cable that fits into the USB socket on the side of your phone avialble from most computer shops for quite cheap too. The mototola cable has RF shielding that is the only difference.
