I'm originally from the Philippines (I now live in the US). The piracy technology there (Manila) makes DVDs $2 each! Actually its Php 55 = USD 1.00 (1 DVD = Php 70.00 = USD 1.27) That's how much I paid for mine, and they were ALL DVD quality. Apparently it's possible to make hundreds of thousands of DVD quality copies overnight. I used to buy 20 movies a DAY and marathon all night. Most of these titles hadn't even been released in Manila's theares (which ARE slightly behind, but not by that much)... meaning i'd get to see a certain movie even before I saw it's previews on TV.

If DVD's were this cheap would we even bother to make copies? If places such as this exist, why don't WE have what THEY'VE got?

I agree with you there...

But I would buy somethin if its really worth it. Like for me I only buy TV Series anything else has to b really good and also If i can make a backup ill do that but if i cant and i want it and its worth it... very rare to find a movie that is worth it... but yea price has gott a lot to do with it...

yea but I mean... 2 bux a DVD? At 2 dollars a DVD id buy pretty much anything. Foreign titles, cheesy kiddie flicks, anything thatll KILL 2 hours.

Maybe if it was a SPECIAL DVD and you couldnt find that anywhere in your area (i.e. your friend is the only person you know whose got a copy) then i'd understand if you'd still want to rip... but honestly I just wouldnt waste my money on the blanks anymore...

...if the movies themselves were CHEAPER than blanks(! LOL AS IF)... THEN probably we'd stop ripping yea? lol

alls im saying is that the technology to do it is out there, we just gotta bring up the demand for it... right? wrong?
