hello everybody. im having trouble getting mafia to work.. i have 3 bins(cd1,2,3) and three cues.. im using easy cd create. i burnt cd 1, cue and bin at the same time, and then autoplayed. the install screen comes up and legal agreement is displayed but just as it gets ready to install it asks for cd one!! what am i doing wrong? there is already a crack compiled with the bin i am burning.. What if i take this out before burning and just burn the game files with the cue?? could it also be that i am not selecting "finalize cd" from the options in easy cd creator?? those were the only things i could think of.. If u have any idea please help!! thanks alot oh by the way... anybody wanna buy some coasters?? hehe

I never used EZCD so I don't know what to suggest you.
I would ask you to switch to another application (CloneCD, Alcohol) because, if on the .BIN there are unreadable sectors and the installation program looks for them, you need to reproduce the layout as it is.
You can do this with CloneCD/Alcohol (and some other), but you cannot do that with EZCD.
Read the main page 'backup protected CD' thread for some hints:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/23699 and post again should you detect any problem.

.CUE has no info on broken sectors.
Alcohol, FantomCD and CloneCD are capable to emulate 'broken' sectors in a way Safedisc v2 can recognize them. CDRWin, Nero are not. Therefore, you have to use the apps that were suggested (or some others, I do not know them all, I suppose DiskJuggler could be fine, too).
QUOTE (From Daemon Tools site)
"The options 'Bypass EFM error' in FantomCD and 'Amplify Weak Sectors' in CloneCD are responsible for a working SafeDisc2 copy"

(bin) it reckognizes the cue, but when i press next it says "unsupported file format" should i be changing the form of my files when i use alcohol? i used winISO to extract the bin before trying to burn.. thnks folks

Aldaco,
I don't think Padus DJ can handle modern protections. In other words, it doens't have these 'amplification' techniques.
DJ has however a RAW read/write support with full sub channel support.

You're right, I checked just today... Daemon Tools site suggests only CloneCD or FantomCD, which I never used (Alcohol is always good of course).

okay, i got my daemon tools up and running. (kind of, everytime i restart at any point after installing, i cannot get the tray icon to come back up... UGH) So i actually can install mafia from my virtual drives using mafia iso's 1,2, and 3 (i used winISO to convert from bin..) but i still can't get it to think that cd 1 is there using the virtual drive when i try to play.. i took a look at alcohol 120% and i'm thinking of tryin to burn the iso..
Daemon tools does talk abit about conflicts between itself and roxio easy cd, does anybody have any thoughts or info on that? (i have the latest installed with all xp updates..) and i wonder if someone could confirm my suspicion that the "rectify sub-channel data" option on the image burning wizard in alcohol 120% is the one i should be selecting if i need to burn.. and should i be using the safedisc/safedisc2 option at the bottom of the menu where it says "datatype"... Thanks everyone i'm learning so much.. I love afterdawn!

Mafia is SafeDisc v2 / CD Checks protected. Therefore, 'Safedisc v2' is enough. You do not need to tamper with subchannel data (actually, I would suggest to burn RAW SAO should RAW DAO not work).
Safedisc v2 burning will allow to install the game. I'm not sure it will cheat the CD-Check part (you'll need a patch for that, do not ask for it here).
