Move all your important stuff to another card/usb stick/whatever, and format the one with the corrupt data using your ar max's memory card manager thingy

Unless you can get another card, or a usb device, or borrow one of those from someone else, you're screwed... the only way to get rid of corrupt data is reformatting the card...

You're welcome.
Sad to say i learned through losing all my data several times, that it's a good idea to keep at least 1 spare memcard around, or a usb device with backups of your saves.

Simple, but painfull : after a while, half of my card got corrupted, so i had no choice other than formatting. *and, of course, not extra cards back then, so saving the uncorrupted stuff wasn't possible*

It can happen when you put on exploits the wrong way *or if the .elf files are faulty*, it can happen when you crush/uncrush data with ar max memory manager, and sometimes, well, it just happens.

Since yours happened while trying to install mediaplayer, did you check http://www.exploitstation.com/?
maybe it looks like corrupt data, but then it just works when independance installer is used?
