Kazaa and Kazaalite are the same basic program, both let you access the kazza community and download. There is no difference in download speed between them. Kazaalite does not have ads or spyware. I prefer the lite version for those reasons. Ads just annoy me, and spyware is not good, it sends all sorts of companies your browsing habits, download usage, and it can even change settings on your computer like the internet explorer start page.
To get rid of all of this, use programs that have no adware(even if this means using a program that costs money as opposed to one that is free) and use a program such as Ad-Aware, which removes the offending ad programs, reg settings and files, well worth getting the free(I think its free) version or going for the plus or professional versions; great program.

The main difference is Kazaa Lite has no adware/spyware and no restrictions such as the kazaa 128kbit mp3 restriction! Also if you use Kazaa Lite with Kazaa++ you get a Supreme Being (1000) participation level. Some people have begun packing kazaa lite and k++ together as one download!

Since you have a 1000 p[articipation level, you have the highest priority possible for downloading so it vastly increases the speed of your downloads!

And finally, people don't like spyware because -- well do you like companys spying on what you do so they can send lots of crap mail your way and lots of ads??

Another newbie question, how do you check your participate level? So the higher your level is the more people you can download at the same time?

Also I've been trying out eMule and eDonkey2000 I don't know if its just me but for some reason it doesn't seem all that good as people say it is. For one thing it takes forever to start transfering .iso files, I'll try to d/l a .iso file and it will be saying (looking...) for like 3 hours, then it actually starts to d/l I would get speeds ranging from 5kbs to 25kbs, mainly stays in 10-15kbs which is decent for you me cause on Kazaa I would usually be getting from 40kbs-85kbs which is awsome. I don't mind the slower d/l speed on eMule and eDonkey2000 but waiting for it to start to d/l kills me and I give up hope :( And another thing would be that it would be d/l for like hour or so then it stops and does that ( looking...) thing again.

Is there way to speed up that up? I already made my uploads unlimited already.

Your Participation level is cleary viewable when you click Traffic, its right upover your list of downloads. And when you have a high participation level you have priority over those with a lower one!

As for eMule, have you read this http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/20686
