I have a DVD I would like to rip to my laptop HD for viewing without a DVD player. So run it right from the hard drive. Is there a guide for this I missed?

Hi Foog,

Welcome to AD. You can use DVD Decrypter which is free to rip the movie to your HD and use your player of choice to view the ripped files. If it is one of the newer movies try dvdfab decrypter also free. Both freeware applications are available in the software tab at the top of the page. See the link in my signature for additional guides written by one of the long standout members here on AD.
