memory card to hard drive?

hi, i have hd loader with a 160gb drive. i was wondering if it was possible to use the hdd to save game data to instead of the memory card or if the memory card was still needed to save game progress.

You can copy save data to the hard drive, but you can't use it to replace a memory card, since games won't allow you to put save data directly on it...
So, in other words, you'll still need a memory card.

how do you copy from the memory card to the hdd? is it through the ps2 browser?
