ok im a moron and didnt want to full with soldering as i knew id mess my ps2 up

now i see this chip is out and no soldering but still a bunch of wires......i assume u take ur ps2 apart and attach on the inside correct?

and how hard is it? again im afraid i might mess it up

difficult?

Yeah you pull your PS2 apart and clip certain clips on certain parts of the board - it's not too hard but you have to be careful when you attach the clips cause lots of people have snapped the clips.

Yeah from memory I think there's some replacement parts available. Check out www.mod-chip.com which sells replacement parts for this chip.

does the dms come with detailed instructions on how to remove and put back everything in the ps2.....be my luck id have like 4 screws left over

If you buy it from mod-chip.com you'll be given access to their online database which not only tells you how to install the chip but also how to pull the PS2 apart and how to put it back together. Trust me, if you haven't pulled apart a PS2 before I would stongly recommend following a manual, such as mod-chip.com, cause you'll end up breaking something and I don't think you want that!

yeah the reason i say that is i was at my friends house when he pulled his apart to put a new laser in on his

i was amazed by the tons of small, minute little things

and like i said b4 he didnt get it back on right with all screws and whatnot

settled for a new slimline just a few months ago instead
