if you have a chip then YOU HAVE A CHIP. How would getting a swap magic bypass the chip when a chip essentialy takes over the bootup procedure of the ps2? It is true that you can't play games online while a mod chip is turned on however, most chips now can be turned off so, all you'd have to do is turn the mod off to go online.

yes, but you would need all the same equipment as if
you had no chip at all.
Like Swap Magic and a flip top
Then you just disable the chip and use the
Swap Magic and flip top and you will be able to
play the game online.
Be aware that the chip will play a game that needed to be
patched/rebuilt. But when you try to load that same game with
Swap Magic it will not work. There are not that many, but a few.
Also note that you will have to patch EVER game for online play
you can not play a back up game online unless you patch it
for online play. You can find instruction on this site
