I've recently encountered problems with these two movies. Using DVD XCOPY EXPRESS it will read but after blank media is inserted it immediately goes to finalizing. Using DVD X RESCUE has worked in the past, but not on these two. After reading I get error message saying there is a problem with writer. Both programs work with other movies. I have Any DVD latest version. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you use AnyDVD with Xcopy when you ripped?

Yes it was running in the background. Allows movie to be read. Goes to finalizing as soon as blank media is inserted.

Have you tried burning with another program instead of Xcopy? If it completes the rip, do not put your disk in your burner, instead reduce the program and browse to where the file is stored and open up another burning program then open the files and burn.
I did this movie using Xcopy ver. 5 with AnyDVD running in the background. Also did it using AnyDVD and Decrypter then Shrink, also AnyDVD and CloneDVD but that was movie only.

Have only tried X Rescue with same result. Did Clone do the job for you?

I had no problem as long as AnyDVD was running and broke the encryption, but be sure you have the latest ver. 5.4.4.1. Yes Clone worked for me, but as stated I did movie only.

I had the same problem with Lords of Dogtown. DVD Decrypter didn't work against Sony's new protection. I had to use DVDFab Decrypter to get it to rip. DVDFab Decrypter doesn't work well with DVDshrink, however. My first time through It didn't compress it to the right size, I had to run it through again from the compressed file.
I've never tried AnyDVD, I think you have to pay for it? How well does it work with DVDShrink, as far as compressing it down to fit on a 4.7GB DVD-R disc?

Yeah all same problems for me too, in the end it came down to using the latest AnyDVD and DVDfab then Shrink without altering the disc at all and it came out perfect.
