Should I Solder my Modbo v1.2 myself?

I have just recently purchased a Modbo v1.2 for a ver. 6 ps2. I don't have the chip yet but many people have said you need alot of experiance in soldering before I try to solder. I have only a tiny bit of experiance in soldering so I am afraid of screwing it up. Should I just let a more experianced friend do it? Are the instructions good enough for a noob like me to understand?
