Hi,

I'm a newbie for copying ps2 games and i'm using dvd decrypter. When I copied my first game, Urban Reign, all your info was really helpful. Thanks a bunch. Problem is, when i burnt my backup from an iso the first 2 times, the program didnt wanna verify and told me there was an error right at the beginning of the verification. I burnt them both at a speed of 4x. The third time, i did exacly the same thing but this time it verified no problem!! I noticed that the 2 copies wich could not have been verified have much longer load time when i pop it in my ps2. For example, i timed the load times just for the heck of it. When loading a stage in Urban Reign, the "not verifyable" ones took 28 seconds. The copy wich burnt and verified successfully takes 8 seconds to load. So now im totally lost and i don't know what I should be doing right. I'm wondering if the reason why it couldnt verify is because it had buffer problems. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks.

Kev

i have been burning discs for years
I never do the verify on them
The verification will come when you stick it
in the PS2 and see if it works.
The verification would not have anything to do with
the loading times, the game is already burned to the disc
by then unless the program you are using is verifing the
original disc before it burns it, like my movie program do.
I know with my movie programs if it does not verifiy it,
it will not burn correctly or burn at all because there is
a problem with the original (like a scratch)

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I just used Nero to backup another game. It worked perfectly. I think i'll use Nero from now on.

Thanks again

I have another question: whats an MDS file for? I have burning games so far using just the iso file. I never came across an mds file. Is there a particularly cool reason for using it?

DVD Decrypter creates one of each
an MDS and an ISO
With DVD Decrypter you burn the MDS file
In basic terms it is a file that tells the program how
to burn the iSO and where it is
Like a cue file with movies.
you choose the cue file and it burns the bin file that is
needed.

Can i disregard the mds file and just burn the iso using Nero? I burned my last games using just the iso and it worked fine. I didnt even have any mds files.
