Gday everyone
I'm extremely new at this and have been reading this forum for a week to learn something. The problem i have is everytime i burn a dvd and go to play it back it has small pauses in the picture every few seconds but the sound seems to be right. Ive tried to burn with dvd shrink and dvd decrypter and used a combination of them both but nothing seems to fix the problem. Can anyone help me

What media are you using?
What is your burn speed?
Have you tried more than one standalone to check the playback?

MORE THAN LIKELY, the reason for your pauses is the CRAP media you are using, no offense to you, but HP sucks~! the only thing, in MY opinion, that they are good for is printers~ :) they should stick with what they KNOW how to do, not venture into making computers/media/drives~: )

HP DVD-R 4.7GB CMC MAG. AE1 8x (one of THE worst manufacturers one the market today, you just got bit by the CMC MAG crap bug) :)

sorry, i don't mean to sound offensive if you take it that way, use some GOOD quality media and you will be off to a better start~ :)

good media suggestions in my signature~

good luck~

p.s. also, SLOW down your burn speed to 4x, this will improve the quality of the backup, especially on sub-par media~ :)

Recommended Media:

Taiyo Yuden 4x dvd-r TYGO1/ 8x dvd-r TYGO2/ 8x dvd+r YUDEN000T02/ 16x dvd+r YUDEN000T03
Verbatim 8x dvd+r MCC003
Verbatim dvd+r DL (MKM001)= flawless no compression backups

Humm, don't they do HP Sauce too ?

goose123, listen to kivory666, he's Dr. Media to us :)

Yes, Taiyo Yuden are the best media (Everyone seems to agree).
Even on Taiyo Yuden, I never burn more than x4.0 to prevent playback issues !

As always kivory is spot on. Use good media at 4x. I use TY pretty much exclusively. But Verbatim's are good as well....one of my standalones hates them, thus I don't use them anymore(still got 1 spindle collecting dust).
