this is more than likely a DVD MEDIA problem...what BRAND and rated SPEED is the printable DVD-R media that you are using? i am going to guess your issue lies within the boundaries of :

1.crappy media
2.burn speed TOO fast for said media~

these are the 2 most COMMON denominators for freezing/pixellation/skipping/etc...

i have also asked for this thread to be moved to appropriate forum~:)

Recommended Media:

Taiyo Yuden 4x dvd-r TYGO1/ 8x dvd-r TYGO2/ 8x dvd+r YUDEN000T02/ 16x dvd+r YUDEN000T03
Verbatim 8x dvd+r MCC003
Verbatim dvd+r DL (MKM001)= flawless no compression backups

dolly your program is fine ,make sure you are using good blank media as in Taiyo Yuden,Verbatim or Ritek(ridata) or stuff that codes out as Taiyo Yuden which would be Fuji Film,Sony and most Maxell DVD+R media also slow down your burn speed to 4X max. (very important) this will solve your problem

Freezing,but not on every disc:

Along with kivory666 post of slow down burn speed and quality media, other culprits of that issue are:

Highly compressed discs
Sticker labels
Dirty laser lens on your stand alone player.

Most important question:
How are you viewing those backups when those issues occur?
Stand alone player? Any tv dvd player/ps2/or x-box
PC using a separate dvd-rom?
PC using the same DVD-RW drive that burned them?
PC playing the files from hard drive and viewing them on pc?

If issues are on a stand alone player: Verify the playback using other stand alones. Take note of the time frame that the freezing takes place and watch that area closely.

Verify that backup using the pc DVD-RW drive and watch it using powerdvd/windvd/or any other fine playing programs. Look at the same area where the freezing takes place.

Here's a handy free program to give the actual MID code from your printable media, and I hope they are not stickers:

Tell us what that MID code is. Example: Maxell-002-00 or MCC-003
