So everytime I load up lod with the freshest version of anydvd running i get an anydvd error saying the disk is either dirty or defective or my dvd drive isn't right. I've tried this on my two drives so i don't think they're the problem. Shrink freezes up when i try to load it with whatever encryption removal software running and decrypter spent almost a day trying to make a PSL but then froze and failed. What should i do?

You may have a bad press and may need to exchange the disc. Try cleaning the disc off. This movie also has new copy protection on it that shrink can not handle by itself. You can also try dvd fab decrypter which can be dl from aD. I used shrink and AnyDVD to rip this one.
Here's a link to a thread about Lords of Dogtown:

Make sure AnyDVD is up to date.
If it still won't rip, try ripping it with DVDFab Decrypter.
DVDFab Decrypter can rip it.
If the disc is bad, the disc is bad.
Not much you can do then.
This is a new encryption.
I would try to rule out software if the disc appears to be OK.
I could get that movie to my hard drive using DVD Decrypter and dvdfab decrypter 2.9.5.0,but DVD Shrink would not open up the ISO file.
I ended up getting dvdfab decrypter express 2.9.5.0 to put that ISO file on my harddrive and DVD Shrink then was able to open it up to compress.I also had to have AnyDVD 5.4.4.1 running in the background.
I got dvdfab to copy the whole thing but its compression settings suck. I guess i'll have to try making an iso because right now it's just in video_ts folders... I hope Sony doesn't keep trying crap like this because it makes it damn hard to backup my disks. Thanks, though
I am throughly confused with whats going on with this Movie....
I have the latest AnyDVD, fresh Installs of Shrink and Decrypter and Still nothing happens...
If I go to open Disc iN Shrink....I get an error saying, Invalid DVD Navigation Structure....Decrypter Runs for abour 5 Mins and Stops Transferring and then just sits there....
GccTxs - Rip the DVD to your HD using the latest version of DVDFab Decrypter. When it's finished, it will give you a VIDEO_TS folder. Open that folder in DVD Shrink. It should work. It did for me.
Yeah all same problems for me too, in the end it came down to using the latest AnyDVD and DVDfab then Shrink without altering the disc at all and it came out perfect.
