Hello all im new to the divx forum, I usually post in the console forum so I would just like to say hi before I ask for help.

Well my problem is that I made a video with my web cam and its 9mins long but for some strange reason its about 2gigs big. I was wondering how I can make it smaller. The quality is no where near a dvd movie and its only 9 mins long so I dont understand why its 2 gigs when divx movies are only 700megs and near dvd quality.

If someone can point me to a guide or give me some step by step instructions on how to reduce the size without sacrificiing the quality to much I would be forever in your debt.

clearly you're using uncompressed RGB. try encoding it using XviD, etc.
its a webcam, so don't expect to much. but apple's webcam looks nice.

and look for video compression setting. choose xvid/divx. you need to install the codec first.
default settings should be fine. use 2 pass and target a bitrate/filesize
