HELP ME PLEASE! XBOX BROKEN

I just received a second xbox that is not functioning. I originally took this xbox as a challenge to fix, but now it has gotten way beyond that point. Every time i turn on my xbox the green circle becomes red and then a whole bunch of different languages tell me to call customer service. Can anyone please help me on to taking the right steps into fixing it?

What's the number it displays? (the number can be found in the top-left hand corner)

The number "16" is on the top left corner. It says "service required. Call customer support". i think that it says that it 8 different languages. Any ideas of what i should do next. Thanks for the reply.

Okay, 16 means dashboard problem. You have two options, a new Xbox or a mod chip. The mod chip will boot from itself, bypassing the Xbox dash thus solving the problem.

Can u boot from cd/dvd?
if not you do need a modchip but make sure your modchip comes with a bios that can boot straight to cd/dvd without reading the hd first, i think xecuter 2 m8 bios can do this but check first.

if you can boot games from dvd then run a softmod hack then run slayers autoinstaller and install dash.

help me, my xbox stopped working...when i turn it on the green light turns to red and the screen says contact service but my real problem is im in the philippines and there's no service center here for xbox...only ps2...and ps2 is not as good as xbox...help me out pls...

after 3 months no repair center will fix your xbox you must send it to xbox and that might cost just as much as a new one would u can look up your error code online and try to fix it yourself

no parts can be ordered from xbox but i know they sell parts on ebay cheap
