Using Tmpginc to encode my Avi's to Mpg for burning to VCD, I have noticed that after encoding, the mpg's stutter slightly every few seconds, is this normal, or is there a few settings I can play with in Tmpginc to rid myself of this pain? I have tried the conversion on a few Pcs to make sur eit wasn't CPU usage, any ideas would be great.

Thx

What do you mean by "stutting" ? also, are you using any tweaked settings, or a default template ?

Sorry, I mean Stuttering.

I have now noticed if the "Direct show Multi" setting in Environmental settings / VFAPI is higher priority than "AVI VFW comp" then the resulting mpg will stutter slightly. If set the other way round, the film is perfect, but the size is twice as big.

This is a conversion of a Divx avi, do you think this makes a difference?

thx

Size being bigger sounds a bit strange, especialy if the bitrate is constant (making VCD?), do you happen to have NIMO codec pack installed ?

Yeah I do

I noticed a big difference changing settings in Tmpgenc - environmental / VFAPI / if I move the "direct show" to higher priority.

If "Direct show" is higher then I get stuttering and ok sound.
If "Direct show" is low priority I get no sound, but no stuttering.

very strange.
