I have a Sony DVD camcorder which records in .mpg format.

So to edit, I convert the .mpg files to .avi using Magic Video Batch Converter (which works great btw).

Initially, my converted files were in a 320x240 resolutin at 15 fps. After editing and burning to DVD, the results looked "ok".

I noticed that the DVD software was burning at 720x480 and 29.97 fps. So I re-converted the original .mpg files at 720x480 and 30 fps.

What I notice is that the video in the resulting DVD is sharper, BUT whenever the camera pans, their is a moire pattern on all the vertical objects in the picture. Is this something I can overcome by varying resolution or frame rate?

Thanks in advance!
