The problem is that once I open my project and when I press the play button nothing happens. All the video clips show up but there is no playback happening. I have no idea what to do. Any help at all would be great.

What version of studio are you using and do you have a breakout box or are you using firewire?

So you're making an AVI file? Are you rendering the project? I have playback problems but not like that. I'll look into it but for now have you been on Pinnacle's website? They have some decent solutions. I don't suggest emailing them for support. They're not real good at that. Let me know how it comes along.

no, im not trying to render it into an AVI. Im just trying to preview the movie in the editor. But ya i still have that problem. What i did tho was start my whole video over again and then it worked fine. With my original video i guess its kinda like it wont link the file with the video therefore not playing back anything. Thats just what i think but i could be wrong. Because it deos work fine when a create a brand new video.

So it's working now? Sorry I couldn't be more help. All I can tell you that Studio9 is a very very demanding programming. You really need to close all your programs running, even in your background. Screen saver needs to be turned off. It's a very good beginners program or a good program for little editing. I've had it do some crazy things to me that are pretty much unexplainable but i've never had it mess up on the playback in the editing. If you drop the file into the editor, press play, and there's no video in the preview window i'll sometimes go full screen while it's playing and the video will show up then. Other than that i'm not sure what to tell you.
