i recently bought swap magic 3.6plus pal dvd and cd

i also have cogswap on my memory card, i can access by using the trigger psx cd

just wanted to ask if there were any differences between the two swap magic and cogswap

i know swap magic has some issues with some games and wanted to know if this is the same case with cogswap

one last question is that what are cdloaders and dvdloaders?

the main problems with swap magic is not the disk/methord/programme, its the end user, who has trouble with media/burning SM does have some issues with with some PS2 games but i think is only 1% of them

one last thing...
what are cdloaders and dvdloaders, iv got cdloader v7 i think and it seems to do the same thing as cogswap but looks different to me

and how comes with dvdloaders people are burning them onto DVD-R becuase doesnt cogswap play dvd and cd backups???

i use gta3 vice city for my dvd backups as it has a very high TOC

seems to be working fine for me

do the dvdloaders have specific games that work on there and if so please could someone name a few games or a list (swapmagicfix.com???)

thankz

DVD loader, CD loader, and cogswap loader were to help games that wouldn't load with SM 2.0. You can use the cogswap loader with a PS1 original to load games with a memory card exploit, search forums for info on cogswap loader for that. If you buy Swap Magic 3.6 then the need for all those other programs is eliminated. You can dink around with the exploit's but a number of people have difficulty getting it to work right. You should be able to get most games to boot with SM 3.6. You need a slide card: http://www.saveware.com/SlideCardUsageAndInstall.htm or flip top: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop/page1.cfm SM 3.6 has some issues with DVD-9 or dual layer games like San Andreas or Gods of War. Check the Guides section of afterdawn for info on burning DVD-9 games to single DVD-R.

it worked with swap magic
and it also worked with cogswap

is this the case for all games?

Of that I am not certain. But you should'nt need cogswap loader to boot backup's or imports since you have Swap Magic 3.6. Basically you've already used your exploit successfully. Maybe you should tutor some of the people who can't get it working. I guess my question to you is sure you can use memory card exploits to load games with cogswap, but why bother? What game's do/don't work with cogswap loader exploit I am uncertain. It is my understanding that it boots a very high percentage of backups. If you just want to toy with it as an alternative to SMD 3.6 then check out some exploit guides like this one: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/109289

San Andreas isnt a DVD9 but lots of people have probs playing backups of it(needs really good media)As for dvdloader and cdloader they are just used for older swap magics if you have 3.6 you dont need them. cogswap is the same thing but it involves an extra swap which can get real anoyying.

No you're wrong let's take this outside. Thanks for the correction. After a little checking there are under 10 DVD-9 games available for PS2 at present.
