I don't really understand the question. What are you describing?

on movies, when I burn I get a circular ring on the outside of the inner DVD circle. It is a small thin circular ring. It is not perfectly circular, but very close. It causes pixelation on the movie backup. It is always in the same place. I have tried 2 different media. The same problem on both Kodak and Maxell DVD-R.

I'll look at a couple that I burned when I get home and see if I can detect anything.

Interesting, I just checked 4 backups, and yes, there is a ring on the outer circle of the hub (almost indistinguishable), however, I have no pixelation. Checked unburnt disks, and no circle.

I'm guessing this is normal, I hope.

whenever you burn a disc, there will always be a ring around OUTER edge of discs, the size of ring differs as to the size of the movie burnt to the disc - the ring on the outer edge is the unburnt bit of disc

Whew, had a feeling that was the case.

I'm pretty much up to the edge, but I knew that, since my burn max is 4450 (ya, I know).

Thanks,

Rich

i use DVD Decrypter with the update and i use DVD Shrink. The circle is about 1 cm. from the inside of the disc, it is not a perfect circle, before completely joining it fades away. On the blank it is not visible. After the burn, it is very apparent. It always pixelates and freezes at that portion of the movie. I use a plextor 708a internal burner. It does not happen on all movies. This is not the unburnt portion on the outside of the disc. Very frustrating.

ok. even though that's out of date, i was using 6.6.0.0 for ages with zero problems, and if you're just doing normal 'dvd-video' compilations then that version if perfectly fine. (i didn't update due to having any problems, i just updated for the hell of it otherwise i'd still be using 6.6.0.0 now).

let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar
