Ok, this is what happened. i installed a softmod on my xbox. then i unistalled it. NO PROBLEM THERE. Then i tryed to ftp into my xbox and it wouldnt let me. so i put back in splinter cell and booted up the unleash x dash and chose restore xbox, wrong decision. so without backing up anything, i restored it.Im pretty sure that it deleted the m$ dashboard. now when i boot up the xbox with no game or the dvd drive open it gives me an error 13. it will boot up games. i tryed making a auto slayer installer dvd and putting it in there but nothing worked. when i booted it up it would give me and error 14 this time. im so mad. so i dont know what to do. someone told me that you can get a boot disc or something for it and it will restore the dashboard. but i am totally lost. can someone please help me. I NEED SEVERE HELP. my aim address is rattler2uf66. feel free to send me some help.

So did you deleate your GSH? Game Save Hack?!?
If so then welcome to your new Modchip! As recovery will not be as simple or as cheap without One. That's one alternitve, the other is to track down the Original XBOX? Restore Disc "For Authorized USE ONLY!" Which will do what all those Slayers CD's 2.x can not. Namely get past the M$ Signature Key to allow the thing to just run. Because you do not have a Modchip you can not currently use the DVD-ROM Drive with anything other then Original Game Disc's, DVD's or Audio CD's.

Its also a fairly known fact that the XBOX? also hates CD-R's!!! unless your one of the few, the proud, the Samsung / SD-616 Owner(s), your mostlikely not going to be able to read 'em on the XBOX?!

CD-RW's on the otherhand work surprisingly well, as do both DVD standards and the DVD RAM. At least on my XBOX? Phillips DVD-ROM Drive.

In anycase you could probably expect to pay about $35.00~$40.00(USD), for that Disc on eBay, for that you could just about get a decent Modchip.

Now given that you were smart enough to leave your GSH alone! You can reinsert the <Game Disc Here>, back into your XBOX?, and recycle the Powerswithch. This should cause you to load the Game off the DVD-ROM Drive! You just then need to rerun your GSH to boot back into EvoX and regain FTP access.

Ok now to try and reinstall the M$Dash. Your going to need a XBL!? enabled Game Disc. It doesn't matter how old it is, (i.e. Splinter Cell), You just need a XBL!? Game Disc, and then a copy of BoxPlorer!

Ok so you reboot your XBOX? into EvoX, Going into the Apps Section you load up BoxPlorer. You should now eject your Game Disc. And insert your XBL! Game Disc. Give it Five Seconds (or so), to settle down. then in BoxPlorer changew the focus (i.e. C:\), to D:\ (e.g. the DVD-ROM Drive),. You should then be able to locate a File called,

UpdateDash.xbe

You can run this by simply pressing the 'A Button' on your Controller. Likewise if your new to this Game and you do NOT have a XBL!? Game Disc yet. I'd recomed you try a p2p, Bittorrent etc., to locate a copy of a UpdateDash.xbe File and just FTP that, via the EvoX GSH, to your XBOX?, and run it there...
