I have a panasonic PV-DV402 digital camcorder which uses mini DV tapes. When I go to watch what has been previously recoded using the VCR function, the tape plays back at what seems to be approx. 1.5 speed. This is preventing me from capturing my footage to my PC properly. I called Panasonic and they recommended cleaning the heads. Does this sound right to you? I've checked to make sure that I am playing in back properly and believe to be doing so.

Most cams can record in SP (60 minutes on one tape) and LP (90 minutes on one tape). The mode that is used during recording is put as a code on your tape. Seems like your cam is not reading this code correct. Cleaning the head may slve your problem, if not you wil have to have your cam checked by a service station.
